Equitable’s M&A Team explores and executes on opportunities that are aligned to corporate strategy and optimizes capital and are seeking a highly motivated M&A Associate to assist in executing these merger and acquisition activities. This highly visible role will report into the Head of Mergers & Acquisitions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluation of potential acquisition targets and divestitures.
- Development of detailed financial models and analyses (e.g., valuation, financial impact)
- Modeling pro forma scenarios associated with potential acquisitions and divestitures, including cash flow and return analysis.
- Production of concise and effective communications for senior management.
- Engagement with partners across the organization including business, finance, legal, tax and accounting teams.
- Coordination of cross functional activities, including due diligence and project management.
- Strategic analyses.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$153,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (e.g., finance, economics, actuarial sciences)
- 2+ years of proven transaction-related experience in an investment bank, private equity firm, venture capital firm or another corporate development team
- Established financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills with an ability to interpret financial statements and build financial models; full understanding of valuation techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge of economics, finance and accounting concepts
- Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization and drive transaction processes and deliverables forward with project teams
- Demonstrated communication and project management skills
- Established technical skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SNL)
- Attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity for Equitable businesses and external environment
- MBA or CPA
- Insurance and financial institutions industry experience

Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
