Job description

The LVT Manager is part of the hospital clinical services team and assists with the organization direction, management, and evaluation of patient care services for the Integrative & Rehabilitative Medicine Service. The LVT Manager supports the mission of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center by providing the very best in patient and customer care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation, and Dermatology to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, staff development, and career ladder to ensure compliance with national standards and state regulatory requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day activities of the veterinary clinical staff, including LVTs and Veterinary Assistants
  • Collaborate with the team leaders and staff to develop, continually improve, and promote quality standards for veterinary clinical care
  • Act as a working supervisor, including in an LVT capacity at minimum 50% of the time
  • Mentor and guide hospital team leaders to ensure excellence in hospital's functionality
  • Provide veterinary clinical and technical guidance and leadership
  • Perform all tasks associated with rehabilitative therapy
  • Assist the Director with daily operations, supervising patient care to ensure patient safety, while learning departmental skillsets
  • Supervise equipment repair and preventative maintenance
  • Implement and assess disciplinary action and progress improvement as needed
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with hospital goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrates core value of care through positive behavior and act as an ambassador for AMC
  • All other related projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications Desired

  • Current NYS Veterinary Technician Licensure required, VTS preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of LVT experience in a specialty veterinary hospital in a Rehabilitation service
  • ACCRP or CCRVN is required
  • Advanced skills in canine rehabilitation required
  • Advanced skills in pain management required
  • Strong anesthesia skills required
  • Proven ability to lead veterinary clinical and technical staff in a healthcare environment
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000
