1. Assist patients to exam rooms and obtain complete and accurate vital signs.
2. Obtains and documents all pertinent information in patient’s charts.
3. Provides quality patient care by using knowledge and skill in the implementation of the
nursing process, makes a comprehensive assessment of the nursing needs of the patient.
4. Applies theoretical knowledge in clinical practice. Consistently assesses the patient
physiological/psychological needs during health care encounters and takes appropriate
actions.
5. Assists providers with routine procedures as needed and provides appropriate nursing care
for patients before, during and after procedures. Recognizes changes in patient condition and
responds promptly to ensure patient care and safety by notifying health care provider and
initiating care.
6. Anticipate, assist and perform procedures ordered by the phone.
7. Safely administers medications, IVs and treatments as ordered by the physicians and other
providers according to established policies / procedures and state laws.
8. Accurately documents all observations, interventions and patients’ responses to treatment.
Interprets and resorts obvious and subtle data which indicate that the patient may be at risk.

9. Perform services which require the skills and licensure of an LVN.
10. Participate in the planning and development of programs for infusion, wound care, education,
etc.
11. Provide some oversight with the Back Office Supervisor and Office Manager of the Medical
Office Staff.
12. Maintain timely patient flow and room availability.
13. Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
14. Reinforce patient education by identifying educational needs and participating in patient
teaching.
15. Stock and maintain exam rooms, nursing stations and individual workstations.
16. Participate in unit duties such as cleaning and sterilizing instruments and ordering supplies.
17. Maintain a current, accurate surgical log, procedure log, lab log and patient tickler files, as
appropriate.
18. Maintain and monitor all equipment used for patient care and testing. Report any discrepancy
to supervisor.
19. Assist with training and orientation of new personnel. Acts as a resource person and mentor
for LVNs, MAs and other personnel. Delegates and supervises assigned staff.
20. Actively participate in nursing QI by anticipating potential problems/issues, participating in
the problem solving process, providing solutions and evaluating outcome.
21. Ensure appropriate handling and accurate documentation of all medications ordered by the
provider.
22. Knowledgeable with referral system and ensures accurate and timely follow through with all
referrals generated.
23. Universal precautions utilized in all patient care.
24. Perform general front office duties such as:
a. Greets visitors, patients and guests
b. Answers phones
c. Schedules patient appointments
d. Calls patients to confirm upcoming appointments
e. Follow up calls per physician’s order- patient call reminders for no show
f. Collects fee tickets/reconciles with arrived appointments
g. Reviews fee tickets for completeness of documentation/coding
h. Prepares fee tickets, payments to send to billing service
i. Copies charts, forms & documents as needed
j. Copies chart notes for billing
k. Answers and addresses patient inquiries, questions and concerns
25. Handles, contains and disposes of infectious waste in accordance with federal OSHA
regulations and Lakeside Community Healthcare policy. Follows and promotes all CLIA
guidelines.
26. Serves as a positive role model by demonstrating a positive attitude and professional
demeanor including appropriate dress and appearance. Wears identification badge at all
times.
27. Other duties as directed by management.

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $30.00 - $31.00 per hour however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.


The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Requirements

1. Valid, unrestricted LVN License in the State of CA.
2. Current CPR certification.
3. ACLS certification preferred
4. 3 years hospital, medical office experience.
5. Managed Care experience a plus.
