Job Summary:
Performs general nursing care and related service procedures that require specialized training for assigned jobcare patients, while adhering to established facility policies and under the direction of registered nurses, nurse practitioners or physicians.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- One year's experience in an outpatient clinic: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
- Certification for Occupational Hearing Conservationist and Spirometry Technician: Preferred
- Qualified Respiratory Fit Tester certification: Preferred
- Certification for Breath Alcohol and Substance Testing: Preferred
- Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP): Required
Essential Functions:
- Assists physicians with procedures. Performs dressing changes, injections and cauterizations, as ordered by physicians. Records patients' chief complaint and vital signs.
- Assists the JobCare specialists, team leaders and clinicians by completing routine forms, obtaining consents and documenting case status when taking authorization calls for diagnostic and specialist referrals. Sends case notes to care partners, as needed.
- Documents patient condition observations, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, IV fluids and medications. Informs medical providers about changes and abnormalities.
- Responsible for specific programs, such as the Respiratory Protection Program and offsite immunization clinics.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
