We currently have an immediate opening for a full-time Licensed Vocational / Practical Nurse (LVN / LPN) supporting the Occupational Health Clinic at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.

Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 9 hours between 7:30am and 4:30pm, with a one-hour lunch
- No Weekends or Holidays
Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet the following requirements):
- Education:
- Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency.
- The program should be accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) or another acceptable accreditation body outlined in the TO.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as LVN/LPN after graduation.
- Licensure:
- Hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an LVN/LPN from any state.
- Life Support Certification:
- Possess a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Certification:
- Completion of a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservation Training (CAOHC) hearing conservation course.
- Possess a current National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved Spirometry Testing Certificate.
- Contractors must complete NIOSH approved spirometry and CAOHC within 12 months of their start date.
- Security:
- Must possess the ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
Core Duties:
- Patient Care:
- Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties to provide care for a diverse patient population.
- Assess patient conditions and use judgment to determine the order and sequence of procedures and treatments.
- Accurately record and report relevant patient information.
- Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments as per established policies and procedures.
- Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeking assistance and initiating emergency interventions as directed.
- Supporting Diagnostic Tests:
- Assist with complex diagnostic tests and specialized procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations, handle specialized instruments and equipment, and monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.
- Patient Needs:
- Observe and respond to patients' needs for care, including medication and equipment-assisted care.
- Provide patient and family education based on professional guidelines.
- Orientation and Integration:
- Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies, procedures, skills, and practice standards.
