1) Perform resident assessments and develop, implement and evaluate care plans as necessary per state, federal, and facility policies.
2) Perform treatments-administer medications, and/or implement other nursing interventions as indicated by the resident care plan or as ordered by the physician. Notify doctor timely as needed.
3) Provide nursing care in accordance with acceptable infection control standards.
4) Follow safety policies while performing nursing care.
5) Initiate emergency measures according to facility policies and nursing practices.
6) Maintain all documentation as required by federal and state regulations and facility policy.
7) Maintain inventory of supplies and/or medications to meet the needs of the resident.
8) Participate in assigned meetings and in-services and quality assurance meetings.
9) Meet unit work goals through assignment of nursing assistants and resident care needs.
10) Evaluate quality and quantity of resident care service by nursing assistants.
11) Present professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
12) Adhere to facility guidelines for resolving consumer concerns.
13) Monitor that consumer/resident rights and privacy are protected.
Requirements:
1) Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or a Registered Nurse in this state.
2) Must be currently certified and possess a valid CPR card.
3) Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
4) Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
5) Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and learn concept.
6) Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
7) Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
8) Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
9) Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
10) Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
11) Must possess the ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. Also, must possess the ability to bend, kneel or stoop.
