As a Luthier, you will be at the core of our guitar production process, crafting our guitars from inception to completion, ensuring each instrument aligns with our high standards. You will also be instrumental in maintaining our equipment and facilities, and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities- Manage and maintain an adequate supply of materials for guitar production, ensuring balanced inventory levels.
- Operate a variety of woodworking tools to produce guitar components.
- Assemble and apply finish to guitars in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor and adjust facility climate to protect raw materials and finished products.
- Engage with customers to answer product questions and assist with repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Ship products in line with company procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in other departments as needed.
- Perform daily office management tasks, including scheduling and leading tours.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in musical instrument repair is desirable.
- Ability to play guitar.
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools.
- Good mechanical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Ability to perform basic and intermediate math skills.
Work is performed largely in a production environment with routine exposure to dirt, noise, chemicals, and solvents. Routine exposure to repetitive stress injuries. Regular contact with employees. Frequent mental and visual concentration for cutting, assembly, and evaluation of quality of finished work. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40 hours a week, with some expectation of overtime. Alternates walking, standing, and sitting throughout work shift. Must be able to lift and move up to 15 pounds of product and equipment; requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal and written communication. Requires near- and mid-range vision.
Equipment OperatedOperates a wide variety of hand and power tools including: files, chisels, sanders, saws, drills, vertical milling machine, buffer, router, dremel, spray finishers, soldering iron, gluing jigs, clamps, and calibration equipment.
