We have an exciting opportunity for a Lunar Curation Processor to join the team with our Science & Exploration Division.
The selected candidate will:
- Process Lunar sample allocations
- Prepare tools, cut, chip or band saw samples, transfer and weigh samples, and track the movement of these samples through the Curation database
- Provide basic petrographic characterization, digital imaging, inventory and cataloging of lunar samples
- Assist visiting Principle Investigators (PI's) selecting samples in the Curation laboratories
- Prepare Lunar samples for a variety of geologic analyses
- Perform other tasks as required
Requisition Qualifications:

- A BS degree is typically required
- Experience working in a clean-room laboratory
- Have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
- Attention to detail and highly developed organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, and experience working with databases
- Requisition Preferences:
- BS degree in geology, physics, chemistry, or a related field
- Experience working with and studying extraterrestrial samples, particularly lunar or meteorite samples

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
