Description:
The lead laboratory liaison will be responsible for daily operations of the laboratory client services. Staff in client services will provide communication between the various laboratory section and laboratory customers. Customers include inpatient nursing units, LUHS ambulatory facilities, home health agencies, and outside clients. The lead laboratory liaison will work collaboratively with the laboratory managers, technical specialists and directors to ensure that messaging is consistent, timely, exceeds customer needs and supports the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Oversees the daily operations of the laboratory client services. Ensures that client services has adequate staff and supplies. Acts as a key resource for problem resolution. Escalates issues as needed to
Mgr. Coordinates Lab Health Screening support- procuring supplies, order entry, collection label production, and lab report production.
Collaborates with the manager and key technical staff to develop and implement standard work in client services. Documents all client services' procedures, submits to online Document control system, reviews & edits annually or when procedures change, and ensures that all procedures are included & up to date.
Effectively leads the client services' team in the provision of support to laboratory customers. Calls critical values, recalls patients for repeat specimen collection, reviews unreceived pending log for lost specimens & follow-up, provides specimen requirements to healthcare providers, faxes laboratory results upon customer request, mails laboratory reports to outside clients, arranges for courier delivery, and reprints specimen labels. Provides a single point of entry into the laboratory for laboratory customers.
Trains client services' staff and monitors performance through regular quality review of calls and customer service surveys. Collaborates with the manager/director to develop quality improvement metrics. Performs weekly audits of quality measures to identify opportunities for improving,standardizing, and streamlining work.
