OBGYN South, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full time LPN/Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team!
As an experienced practitioner, the LPN/RN is accountable for providing high quality, individualized, goal directed care for all patients and their families through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
This role will be working with the Urogynecology speciality.
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians; takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, ensures medical chart/lab test results are available and complete
- Uses a team approach to develop and achieve daily patient-centered individualized care goals.
- Acknowledges and values the contributions of the patients’ significant others as an integral part of the plan of care
- Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions
- Administers immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed; records and documents all such activities in the chart
- Assists physician with patient examinations, diagnostic tests and/or procedures
- Cleans and stocks all patient examination rooms; cleans and prepares instruments for procedures; keeps list of needed medical supplies
- Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
- Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
- Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
- Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff
- Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient
- Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician
- Additional duties as assigned
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- State of Alabama RN License or State of Alabama LPN License
- BLS certification
- At least one year of working experience as an RN or
- At least two-three years of working experience as an LPN
- OB/GYN experience preferred, but not required
