Job Description Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
Assists the OB/GYN RNs and physicians with clinical and patient care duties.
Performs selected patient care tasks within the OB Unit under the direction of an RN including, but not limited to, preparing patients and equipment for special obstetric surgical procedures, assisting the obstetrical surgical team as a scrub during Cesarean Sections and other procedures in the OB Unit.
Gathers data, plans, and implements the nursing care of patients within the nursing unit under the supervision of an RN.
Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the patients between shifts by providing direct care as well as assisting with the care given by nursing assistants and supportive staff members.
Participates in patient and family teaching.
Maintains role as patient advocate with a focus on the mission and values of OhioHealth.
Minimum Qualifications:
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - National Council of State Boards of Nursing
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Must hold a current license from the State of Ohio. successfully completed Ohio Board of Nursing approved medication course. Basic Life support Provider.
