Lpn Medication Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. As an LPN, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Your primary responsibility will be to administer medication twice daily on weekends, holidays, and some weekdays for a geriatric patient with severe dementia. This position is best fit for an individual who lives in the Windermere/Winter Garden area that can commit to a set weekend schedule and will be flexible for coverage on holidays and some weekdays.

Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
- Assist with physical examinations and provide support during procedures
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Assist in coordinating patient referrals to other healthcare professionals or facilities
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment
- Stay updated on current nursing practices and participate in continuing education opportunities

Qualifications:
- Valid LPN license in Florida
- Proven experience as an LPN in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of Cerner or Epic electronic medical record systems is preferred
- Familiarity with physical examinations, vital sign monitoring, and sterile processing techniques
- Experience in critical care, hospice care, occupational health, or pediatrics is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
