Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- BLS Certification
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- LPN (Preferred)
As a Medical Assistant/LPN you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support Physicians and Nurse Practitioners through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Assess the patient obtaining pertinent information and history prior to each physician visit.
2. Ensure work area is organized, restocked, and cleaned daily to ensure cleanliness of work place and preparation for next work day.
3. Ensure availability and maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
4. Performs all therapeutic modalities of nursing care (within employees' scope of practice) as ordered by the physician.
5. Effectivley communicates with physicians, supervisor, staff and patients.
6. Collaborates with the physician and other staff to ensure smooth efficient work flow.
7. Maintains proper documentation and records for patient charts.
8. Schedules / Coordinates referrals, tests to be performed. Obtains authorization for such tests from insurance companies in a timely manner.
9. Assist with patient phone calls- answers, returns, documents prior to end of work day.
Part time days worked will vary based on the needs of the clinic. Most days will be full 8 hour days.
