Job Description
Job Title: LPN / LVN (Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse)
Job Summary:
The LPN / LVN will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. They will collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement individualized care plans for patients. The LPN / LVN will ensure the well-being of patients by assessing their needs, monitoring their vital signs, administering medications, and providing basic bedside care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
2. Assist with patient assessments and develop care plans
3. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
4. Provide basic bedside care, such as dressing wounds and changing bandages
5. Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures and self-care techniques
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
8. Adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current LPN / LVN license in the state of practice
- Completed a state-approved nursing program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered care approach
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Basic computer skills for electronic health record keeping
