SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Secure authorizations needed for insurance reimbursement of high dollar procedures/infusions. This requires extensive knowledge of insurance requirements for all health plans. In addition to knowing the insurance requirements the incumbent must also understand the clinical aspects of the procedures/infusions to properly document both the diagnosis, current condition, previous treatments and the applicability to the scheduled services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • One year clinical experience or pre-certification experience for any duration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation.
