The LPN provides direct patient care and works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients in an office based setting.
- Possess and maintain a State Licensed Practical Nursing license.
- Accurately calculate medication dosages.
- Assists the physicians and nurse practitioners as needed.
- Provides telephone triage and properly documents all patient, physician and other contacts.
- Participates in revenue cycle by ensuring authorizations and referrals are in place and notifying the Billing Associate of needs for further authorizations.
- Documents correct CPT and ICD-10 codes for services provided.
- Cleans, stocks, and prepares examination rooms. Keep rooms comfortable for patients, physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Monitors medical supply inventory.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Communicates effectively and courteously with and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.
- Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
- Uses standards of patient satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness.
- Follows universal precautions and OSHA standards.
- Performs other assigned duties as directed.
Education Level: LPN state license required.
Experience Years: 1+ years experience in pediatric nursing in office environment preferred.
Experience Industry: Healthcare
- Must maintain CPR certification.
