LPN 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm

Northpointe Council is looking for full time LPN, at our First Step Center residential facility, to provide management and treatment of alcohol and chemical dependency withdrawal in a humane atmosphere which protects patient dignity and client rights.

Part time and full time shifts available. Flexible schedule

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Gathers basic identifying information to admit clients to First Step Center and explains program rules and expectations
• Applies compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles
• Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge
• Administers specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or intermuscular injection noting time and amount on patients’ charts
• Assembles and uses such equipment as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen suppliers
• Collects samples such as urine, blood and sputum from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples
• Sterilizes equipment and supplies
• Prepares or examines food trays for prescribed diet and feeds patients
• Records food and fluid intake and output

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree with one year of experience in the treatment of chemical dependency including the treatment needs of patients withdrawing from alcohol or substance abuse, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• NYS Licensure as LPN
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate

Standard shift: 11pm-7am and/or 7pm-7am

Medical specialties: Addiction Medicine

Physical setting: Rehabilitation center, In person, one location

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Niagara Falls, NY 14303: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Salary: $24.61 - $25.85 per hour
