Lower School Culture Fellow (EAH)

The Lower School Culture Fellow will work alongside the AP of Culture to create and maintain a positive student culture, ensure that the school's clear and consistent discipline system and Code of Conduct are followed by all staff, that families receive regular communication about their children's behavior, and that students are rewarded for showing growth and making the best choices. They will create the foundation for our positive School Culture and collaboration with the community at large.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the culture system (Deanslist) is used with fidelity by teachers and families with a focus on our Lower School grades (K, 1, 2, 3)
• Observe (daily) Lower School classes and teachers to give feedback on classroom culture and the implementation of the schoolwide discipline system
• Provide clear, consistent consequences to mid-level and high-level behaviors for all Lower School students
• Respond directly to high-level student behaviors, support teachers in responding to low-level behaviors
• Help teachers and leaders create clear action plans to improve student behavior based on data
• Mentor Lower School students with high level behavior concerns and assist with Student Behavior Trackers
• Organize and print student paychecks for weekly distribution to families and students
• Coordinate student incentives for exhibiting our core values
• Communicate with Etoile's bus transportation about student behavior(s)
• Collaborate with the leadership team and/or social workers to create action plans for major consequences
• Communicate directly with families and support/coach teachers as they communicate with families
• Coach teachers that struggle with the discipline system and/or classroom management (including sessions after school)
• Participate in Home Visits and Family Orientation Sessions
• Support with REACH Celebrations and Friday Extension
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
• A minimum of two years working in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred, but not required
• A commitment to working with underserved youth
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff
• Open to feedback, desire to continue development as a professional and willingness to take responsibility for student outcomes and achievement
• Alignment with school's mission and core values
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
