Regional Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, leading, aligning, and monitoring company programs, policies, and processes to protect company assets, minimize losses, and ensure a safe and secure working environment, while partnering closely with various functions across the organization including Pharmacy Operations, Front-End Operations, Customer Service, Automation / Engineering / Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Compliance / Risk, Human Capital, Legal, Pharmacy Practice, Outbound Transportation / Carrier Management, Facilities / Real Estate, Security Services, and vendors. This position will provide strategic and tactical direction and leadership for Loss Prevention (LP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), apply accountability standards based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implement change to continuously improve processes, and be accountable for delivering on financial objectives. This position will provide coaching, mentoring and support in the development of staff and recognize individual and team success that result in a high-level of team engagement and commitment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Optum Infusion Pharmacy business through Loss Prevention initiatives by delivering on the implementation of best practices, shrink reduction, inventory controls, report development, and standardization around chain of custody for high value drugs and controlled substances  
  • Teach, train, and influence pharmacies around theft and proactively investigate / resolve theft and medication loss cases
  • Ensure inventory control processes / measures are established, implemented, maintained, and adhered to for all products within the pharmacy fulfillment centers including inbound receiving / auditing, proper putaway and storage, tracking and tracing, cycle counting, packing, outbound shipping, damages, resends, return and waste disposal
  • Partner with the Supply Chain organization to identify and investigate carrier losses, missing/lost packages, potential carrier or consumer theft or fraud, carrier accountability, potential prosecution, and remittance for losses
  • Work with field and support leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering, Pharmacy Practice, Quality, and site teams, to ensure processes are established to problem-solve issues and ensure ongoing continuous improvement
  • Develop and coordinate Loss Prevention / Assets Protection communication, training, budgeting/ resource allocation and event planning
  • Review and deploy appropriate camera strategies to promote optimal shortage identification, theft recovery, and physical security deterrents
  • Develop and implement a strategy to promote a safe and secure environment across the Infusion Pharmacies in close partnership with Corporate Security
  • Support and investigate controlled substance loss in partnership with site Pharmacists in charge. Help conduct and investigate any DEA action planning processes as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience leading in Loss Prevention, pharmacy operations, operations, supply chain, and distribution / fulfillment operations
  • Willing to travel up to 50%


Preferred Qualification:

  • Pharmacy Technician License

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
