Required Certifications & Qualifications
Current State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate #042
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with students in the middle school setting
Bachelor's degree in fine arts or art education
Strong communication, teaching, and time management skills
Experience with different visual arts
Essential Skills, Knowledge Performance Abilities

• Planning lessons on art and art history in accordance with students' learning objectives.
• Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment.
• Developing students' drawing, coloring, and painting techniques.
• Providing instruction on the use of media such as graphite and charcoal pencils, as well as oil, acrylic, and watercolor paint.
• Teaching students about art history.
• Assigning and grading projects.
• Recording and reporting on students' progress.
• Ensuring that the classroom is clean after each lesson.
• Monitoring inventory and sourcing art supplies, as needed.
• Attending faculty and parent-teacher meetings, as needed.

Additional Duties
Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Building Administrator
Terms of Employment

• $100 Substitute Rate per day for the first 10 consecutive days
• $257.28 per day starting on the 11 day
• Potential for salary lane change in the 41st consecutive day upon proof of MA or MA-6th Year Degree

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday 7:40am - 2:50pm
