Summary
We are currently looking for a Logistics Team Leader to guide and grow a team to be effective and efficient in all aspects of the shipping process. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping meet the daily and weekly metrics for the team. These goals measure the team's effectiveness of timely and accurate shipments while ensuring proper communication to all parties involved. The candidate will be expected to have a hands-on approach and support their team in day-to-day tasks when needed. Previous experience with process improvement, training and decreasing waste in processes would be beneficial in this role.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of people in the execution of daily logistics tasks, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Work together with the Logistics Supervisor to plan and control activities in the Logistics department.
  • Ensure purchased, routed, stocked materials are received, inventoried accurately, picked, and shipped by the team.
  • Strict adherence to inventory movement and storage expectations for the facility.
  • Order fulfillment for both internal customers (production) and external customers.
  • Accurate and timely shipping of finished goods to a global customer base.
  • Picking, packing, and shipping accurately and efficiently, will be measured.
  • Enforce safety rules on team members to avoid injury accidents and production hazards.
  • Inspect work done by team members to ensure they meet company standards of good quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by using standard work planning for the team.
  • Continue leadership training to grow as a people leader.
  • Call out areas where improvements can be made and drive efficiencies for team growth at the site.
  • Support and cover for the Logistics Supervisor.
  • Assure timely identification and resolution of issues impacting production.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
  • Partner with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Work with cross functional teams to implement efficient and effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that Logistics employees are trained against.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.
  • Ability to work overtime as required and perform other duties as required.

Skills & Abilities:
Education & Experience:
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and warehouse environment in related industry preferred.
  • Good knowledge of both Inbound and outbound logistic best practices.
  • Strong inventory management skills and focus.
  • Ability to lift 24-30lbs.

• Comfortable communicating with all levels internally and externally.
• Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data allowing for proposal/development of practical business solutions.
• Committed to growth mindset and continuous improvement.
• Excellent oral, written communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively on KPI's as well as logistics and compliance issues verbally and in writing, in a clear understandable manner.
• Soft Skills: Showcase good leadership / motivation skills to lead different people with different abilities and character traits. Swift learner and excellent coach to train their teammates and would be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills to effectively handle the challenges and problems in the logistics department. Expected to understand the importance of time management and to always be proactive.
Computer Skills:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office and proficient skills in the Office Suite including Teams. Experience with QAD Manufacturing ERP is a preferred.

License and/or Certification(s):
Forklift certification
