BlueScope Recycling (BRM) is a full-service, ferrous scrap metal recycler with processing facilities in Waterloo, Indiana, Delta, Ohio, and Mansfield, Ohio.
With a focus on delivering the highest level of service, BlueScope Recycling buys scrap from industrial generators, wholesale suppliers, and the general public.
As a processor, BlueScope Recycling transform raw ferrous scrap into specification melt products for primary and secondary producers of iron, steel, and stainless steel.

Job DescriptionSummary: A Logistics Manager will manage our overall supply chain. The position is responsible for managing all scrap transportation of our sales and purchase order requirements to enhance business development, and to ensure sustainability and overall customer satisfaction within our BlueScope Recycling and Materials Transport business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, transportation, and customer service
- Direct, optimize, and coordinate scrap pickup and delivery.
- Liaise and negotiate with 3rd-party haulers
- Keep track of quality, quantity, scrap levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Plan routes and process shipments
- Resolve any arising problems, complaints, or customer service issues.
- Supervise, coach, and train the transportation workforce.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement process improvements.
- Oversee BRMT asset planning, purchasing, and management.
- Comply with laws, regulations and BRMT requirements.
- Hiring and training staff, dispatchers, and truck drivers
- Coordinating staff schedules
- Improving the efficiency of the company’s transportation and human assets
- Negotiating transportation costs
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of related experience
- Record of successful distribution and logistics management
- Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
- Proficient in standard logistics software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred
Quantitative Scope:
- No budget responsibility
- 4 direct reports (2 Dispatchers, 2 Transport Supervisors), 15 indirect reports (truck drivers)
