Arvato is hiring a Logistics Engineer to join our growing team! In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with our operations leadership, account teams, and design engineers to bring the solutions to our customers' evolving needs to life.
As a Logistics Engineer, you will collaborate, cross functionally, on installation, maintenance and site optimization initiatives. This role will require the ability to effectively manage timelines, evolve to meet changing demands, and an ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships. Additionally, analytical skills are needed to contribute with reports, risk analysis and decision matrixes. All of your activities require proper documentation in Standard Operating Procedures and other work instructions. You may also be asked to train the related contents of these documents if needed. The job requires mainly face to face work, mobile working opportunities are limited.
YOUR TASKS
30% Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units.
10% Conduct logistics studies or analyses, such as time studies, zero-base analyses, rate analyses, network analyses, flow-path analyses, or supply chain analyses.
20% Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistic opportunities
20% Analyzing Data or Information - Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts
10% Design plant distribution centers
5% Evaluate the use of technologies, such as global positioning systems (GPS), radio-frequency identification (RFID), route navigation software, or satellite linkup systems, to improve transportation efficiency
5% Conduct environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation
Perform data analysis and requirements
Site evaluation, site and building requirements
Planning process and material flow, Warehouse-Infrastructure & layout planning
Productivities & staff requirements
Establish and plan budgeting investments and project costs
Project planning for timelines and milestones
Understanding and developing of layouts
YOUR PROFILE
Bachelor Degree in Industrial or Supply Chain Engineering or equivalent work experience
At least 2 years of experience in a maintenance, industrial or manufacturing engineering capacity
Ability to travel up to 25% within the US, with potential for international travel, if needed
Basic knowledge in ERP system, preferable SAP
Experience in big data tools, ideally MS PowerBI or SAP BO
Lean Management experience
Knowledge in a common development languages such as MS VBA, Python, R, etc.
