Logistics Driver - Class B Licensed

POSITION SUMMARY

Southland Industries is looking to hire an experienced Class B Licensed Logistics Driver, with a clean driving record and current CDL license.  The Logistics Driver will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of tools and materials to client sites, Southland offices, and projects.  We are looking for an employee who values the things we do as an organization and who can be trustworthy and competent in their craft.  

What you’ll do:

• Transporting tools, finished goods, and raw materials from the warehouse and shops to job sites.
• Planning routes, bill of lading, meeting delivery schedules
• Performs shipping and handling duties to include driving a forklift, loading and unloading trucks and receiving deliveries
• Perform daily inspection of vehicle and report any problems immediately to manager
• Ensure vehicle is clean on the interior and exterior
• Provides support to the warehouse team as needed: pulling tool orders, yard maintenance, and other tasks as assigned

Physical Capabilities: 

• Continuously must stand, walk, bend stoop, lift, climb stairs and ladders, kneel, squat and crouch; often crawls and shovels; often required to lift up to and over 50 pounds
• Required to wear PPE including gloves, glasses, and steel toed boots

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Experience as a Class B Driver License
• Excellent driving record
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good customer service skills
• Experience with MS Word

What you bring to the table:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior hands-on experience with commercial driving of any kind preferred
• Current Class B CDL License
