The Industrial Engineering co-op position will work with the Logistics Integrated Production Teams in the Cedar Rapids, IA facility. This position is for an Industrial Engineering student interested in learning engineering principles used in both Logistics and Manufacturing. If selected, the employee will work side by side with our Industrial Engineers, Production floor operators, & Manufacturing support/engineering staff, to resolve flow, product, and quality issues associated with state of the art manufacturing techniques.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Learns about planning the sequence of operations and procedures, and documents manufacturing standard work and routings. May design tooling to aid the manufacturing process to support manufacturing needs.
• Assist in planning the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment and increased output. 
• Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the shop floor layout, troubleshooting,
• May help in conducting studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, standard work development, and Transportation Management Systems. 
• May assist facilities engineers (planning and design of facilities) and materials logistics specialists (packaging design).

Basic Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or an applicable discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
