Job Description:

The role of the Logistics Business Unit Manager is responsible for the successful and efficient distribution of all

Gourmet Gorilla products, managing supply chain and last-mile logistics operations, and managing, developing

and all driver, dispatch, fleet, expediting and inventory team members. The Logistics Business Unit Manager will

develop and implement strategies, processes, and systems to increase efficiency and profitability for Logistics

operations across the company. This management position will report directly to the General Manager and lead

highly visible supply chain projects to streamline processes and improve utilization of various systems, both at

the central facility as well as all satellite locations, and transform the Logistics department from a cost center to

a profitable Business Unit. Work closely with key stakeholders and offer solutions by delivering SOPs, business

plans, data models, flow charts, and strategic plans. Evaluate and provide a roadmap to align work processes

with current and future technologies and introduce change management to the organization. Collaborate with

all department leaders to promote excellence in customer service. The Logistics Business Unit Manager will

identify and implement process improvements, increase efficiency and profitability, and reduce cost while

executing 100% order fulfillment and on-time delivery

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with key stakeholders and work cross functionally to understand the needs of the business.

• Manage and facilitate all Logistics Operations for all company satellites from the Central Kitchen location.

• Manage and maintain departmental PL across all company locations.

• Conduct operational and strategic gap analysis, and benchmark processes with competitors to implement

best-in-class practices and solutions.

• Analyze data and develop solutions to address challenges in the Logistics supply chain.

• Manage Driver, Dispatch, Fleet, Expediting, and Inventory Management team members. Determine resource

use to ensure customer deliveries are scheduled appropriately and accurately.

• Ensure efficient distribution operations and timely deliveries that meet performance goals and budget.

• Responsible for preventative maintenance of all fleet vehicles as well as coordination of timely repair of

vehicles when significant repairs are necessary.

• Ensure proper routing for all Gourmet Gorilla deliveries out of both Chicago and satellite offices, with a firm

understanding of input offered by the customer service team and dispatch management teams.

• Ability to troubleshoot delivery issues, coordinate re-deliveries, and improve processes leading to higher

accuracy and no re-deliveries.

• Collaborate and communicate with supply chain, cross-functional, and regional teams to effectively execute

distribution goals, and ensure all operations meet quality and safety standards.

• Prepare presentations to senior leaders introducing recommendations and highlight any risks and costs

associated with these changes.

• Implement new and update existing processes through project management plans.

• Develop and implement necessary SOPs and maintain Operations Manual across organization.

• Manage Logistics supply chain project goals and ensure that they are within budget and delivered on time.

• Perform data mining and process mapping for management requirements and presentation of results.

• Execute big data techniques, database mining, and systems engineering to identify supply chain solutions.

• Define and align smart technology solutions to drive business results and function as a liaison between IT

and process team and cross-functional Business Units.

• Implement effective technology to maximize and execute efficient distribution and deliver excellent

customer experience.

• Explore and develop partnerships with external suppliers where necessary to facilitate growth and most

efficient distribution and provide industry solutions.

• Continuously evaluate and improve budget, processes, procedures, operations, products, and services using

the Plan-Do-Check-Act Continuous Process Improvement Model.

• Lead and manage change management processes, training materials, and ensure solutions are

implemented.

• Develop and manage continuous solutions for responsible and effective hiring, training, coaching, and

performance management.

• Facilitate and implement company principles and execute People, Planet, and Profit goals and initiatives that

deliver innovation, productivity, employee engagement, efficiency, profitability, and great customer

experiences.

• Establish departmental vision, goals and KPIs aligned with 2023-2024 company goals

• Develop and implement strategy, and implementation plan for market solutions to turn Logistics from a cost

center into a profit center. (Gourmet Gorilla Logistics Delivery Center)

• Document all SOPs and complete comprehensive, standardized Logistics Operations Manual, capturing all

relevant policies, best practices, training, etc.

• Develop and implement tools and systems to facilitate processes and operations across all locations and

maintain a safe work environment.

• Manage daily deliveries and routing for maximum efficiency to achieve 100% on-time deliveries and order

fulfillment and create reporting metrics and actively review information with Senior Management.

• Research and implement appropriate systems and technology to facilitate efficiency and customer

satisfaction.

• Manage and improve upon current distribution procedures in a manner that leads to higher customer

satisfaction.

• Recruit and interview candidates who possess the skills necessary to help achieve delivery goals, in order to

build best in class Logistics team, including hiring, training and employee discipline.

• Train and coach team members to consistently develop strong customer rapport, safe driving, accuracy, on-

time performance, and vehicle maintenance. Complete and implement comprehensive onboarding and

ongoing training and employee engagement program.

• Planning, implementation, and follow-up of Logistics Delivery Center operational tasks and projects.

• Work collaboratively with other departments, especially culinary and customer service and maintain a

constant focus on improving the Gourmet Gorilla delivery experience.

• Explore and develop partnerships, and coordinate with third party logistics accordingly as needed

• Build best-in-class, efficient and productive team within budget, and retain talent.

• Develop and maintain cost effective vehicle and fleet maintenance program (preventative maintenance,

fueling alternatives).

• Manage PL, and continuously evaluate cost effective and cost reduction opportunities.
