Logistics Associate

Monarch is seeking a qualified Logistics Specialist at the Foxconn Ohio facility in support of our team.
Major responsibilities
- Load shipments via forklift or pallet jack inside the trailer or a container
- Drive and load the tractors in a trailer, a container, or a flatbed
- Block, brace, and tie-down shipments to ensure it doesn't shift during transport
- Prepare and manage tools and materials that are needed to perform daily tasks
- Purchase, measure, cut, drill, install, pre-make, etc.
- Review each step of the process for further improvements and cost-saving opportunities
- Coordinate with Logistics Specialist on shipping out the tractors in a timely manner
- Performs a variety of warehousing/storage tasks to include receiving, and issuing materiel, locating and storing items, and participating in required inventories.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years' experience as a Logistics Associate
- Skill in blocking and bracing procedures to plan the type and placement of blocks, wedges, braces, and other tiedown devices. Needs to have a good understanding on how trucks are transported and use that knowledge to make decisions on how the cargo should be secured, to prevent shifting during transit.
- Have a good understanding of how a variety of different types of cargo tend to move, shift or break loose during transport.
- Needs to have the ability to read and work from written instructions, sketches, or drawings.
- Applies the ability to measure and miter lumber by using squares, meter boxes, rulers and tapes, or by estimating the appropriate angles and sizes along with skill in using industrial equipment to cut and make blocks.
- Knowledge of the uses of various kinds, sizes and amounts of materials and hardware (e.g., lumber, cables, chains, ropes, nails) to select appropriate items for blocking and bracing. Skill in guying, lashing, tying down, and securing items with capable, chains wire, rope, etc.
- Applies skill in the use of levers, jacks, crimpers, impact wrenches, strapping tools, cable stretchers, and similar tools
- Knowledge of hard and soft woods, wood substitutes, grades, and machining characteristics to select proper materials for the construction of containers.
- Ability to determine from packing manuals and specifications the materials and methods required for packing in consideration of size, shape, type, weight, fragility, mode of transportation and destination of items.
- Skill in operating controls of forklift, maneuvering loaded forklift and narrow spaces and determining safe weights, heights, widths, etc., to properly move and place loads.
