The Logistics & Purchasing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in optimizing supply chain operations by efficiently coordinating logistics, managing procurement processes, and ensuring seamless communication with suppliers and internal teams. Responsibilities:

Logistics Coordination

• Plan and coordinate transportation and logistics activities for the timely and cost-effective delivery of our products.
• Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to optimize shipping routes and reduce transportation costs.
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any logistics-related issues.
• Process and track orders from sales team, including order entry, confirmation, and shipment tracking.

Shipping / Receiving:

• Process both Domestic and International shipments.

Procurement Management

• Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality agricultural inputs and materials.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and develop effective purchasing strategies.

Inventory Control

• Working with the Warehouse Production Lead, maintain accurate inventory levels by implementing effective inventory control measures.
• Monitor stock levels, anticipate shortages, and place orders as needed to prevent disruptions in production.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and address any issues or concerns.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Documentation and Compliance

• Ensure all Logistics and Purchasing documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and ensure adherence to legal standards.

Communication and Coordination

• Facilitate effective communication between internal departments, suppliers, logistics partners, and customers.
• Provide timely updates on shipment status, procurement activities, and potential issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any supply chain challenges.

Cost Analysis and Budgeting

• Analyze Logistics and procurement costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
• Contribute to the development and management of budgets related to Logistics and Purchasing activities.

Production

• Assist the Warehouse Production Lead with production, as needed.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field preferred. OR 2 years plus experience in a supply chain role.
• Ability to lift 50 pound boxes.
• APICS certification a plus.
• Experience with ERP or supply chain management software and tools.
• Experience with shipping software and international shipment documentation.
• Proficient with Google suite of products a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and must enjoy working in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Clean driving record.

Reporting relationship

This position reports to the Sourcing and Distribution Manager and may be independent or have direct reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
