Glaz-Tech Industries is looking to fill the role of a Logistics and Data Analyst intern. The logistics intern will be responsible for learning a trucking software for Electronic Logging Devices (ELD). Glaz-Tech has installed ELDs in the Glaz-Tech Truck Fleet and is capturing a large amount of data such as: real time moving safety violations, delivery time at customer locations, ability to calculate the most efficient route, and time spent driving, etc.

The intern will be responsible for learning the software application and then determining information that can be used to help Glaz-Tech increase delivery efficiency and create a proactive culture to driver safety. The position will require using tools such as Excel, a database software, and an analytic software tool to capture and interpret the data from the trucking application. The expectation at the completion of the internship would be to learn the current GTI Driver Safety Program while making improvements using data as a guide for decision making. The logistics intern would report to the Corporate Director of Operations and be required to provide weekly updates on progress and direction of the safety program.

The position will require 20-30 hours per week and would run through the 2024 summer. The position is completely onsite, so applicant must have reliable transportation.

Preferred majors: System & Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, MIS, Computer Science.
