Local/Regional Truck Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local Driver to join our team. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations within a designated area. Locally owned Full Truckload dry van company is looking for a driver who will be home most every night, but who could also stay out overnight once a week if need be. We’ve increased the number of loads we move from Kansas City KS to places like Spring Hill KS, Lenexa KS, Topeka KS, Wichita KS, Springfield MO, Joplin MO and Omaha NE.

Most of these loads will deliver in the late morning or early afternoon so a driver should be home that night, but the Omaha’s will deliver at 6 or 7AM, so the driver would need to be up there the night before. This is a vital role in our organization, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of vehicles including tractor-trailers
• Load and unload goods and materials from the vehicle
• Plan routes and follow schedules to ensure on-time delivery
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
• Inspect vehicles before and after each trip, reporting any maintenance or repair needs
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries

Experience

• Proven experience as a Local Driver or similar role
• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is a plus
• Familiarity with various types of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, roll off trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, etc.
• Valid commerical driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to load and unload goods and materials safely
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers
