Position Summary:
Performs a variety of tasks relating to product transportation. Primary duties include driving trucks short distances to deliver trees and equipment to customers in compliance with all Company safety policies and state and federal transportation regulations. This position may also perform various yard duties including prioritizing and picking material to fill orders, loading and unloading product on delivery trucks. Drivers work somewhat independently. Fannin Tree Farm seeks a driver who is dependable, who have good judgment and decision-making skills, and who pay close attention to detail
Job Duties:
· Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
· Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
· Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business.
· Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management.
· Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
· Help load and unload trucks.
· Load and unload equipment and trees on and off the delivery trucks – requiring physical moving and lifting of product weighing as much as 150 pounds.
· Timely transportation of product from origin to destination as assigned.
· Assist in verifying all incoming and outgoing product for accuracy in terms of amount, size and type, informing management of inventory and supply shortages as well as assisting in actual periodic inventory counts.
· Ensure all administrative paperwork concerning delivery orders required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies delivery.
· Maintain professional representation of the Company in all interactions with customers and through responsible driving.
· Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records required by law and Company policy.
· Abide by all Company safety policies and state and federal transportation regulations.
· Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) in safe manner and maintain an operator license, if required.
· Preform other duties as assigned.

Please Note: We are looking for someone to do more than just drive. We are looking for someone that can learn our business, work on their truck for minor issues, load and unload machines on job site and yard, help with machines at job site. This is not a drive and sit job.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· High School Diploma
· DOT Licenses
· At least 1-3 years’ experience in driving semi - trucks with air brakes.
· Commercial Pesticide Applicator, preferred, or willing to get license within 18-months of employment
· Experience driving heavy equipment
· Experience loading and unloading equipment from truck
· Must be able to maintain a DOT Medical Card.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 150 lbs. numerous times per shift, talking, hearing, and seeing.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Spends most of time outdoors in possible temperature extremes, noisy environment, vibrations of body or extremities, risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, electricity, etc. Possible exposure to fumes or odors that affect respiration and skin.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm. Saturdays, as needed.
