Job description

As a highly valued member of the Fund Accounting & Disbursements Branch (FADB), the Accounting Administrator I (AA I) works as part of the multidisciplinary team within Financial Management Division (FMD). Under general supervision of an Accounting Administrator II, the position is responsible for the supervision and direction of the team responsible for the Local Assistance payments of Title XIX Medi-Cal and Title XXI Healthy Family Programs. The Local Assistance Unit processes all of the Local Assistance payments for the Title XIX and Title XXI Medi-Cal, Healthy Family Funds, and some Non Medi-Cal payments. This position is responsible for accurate and timely processing of the Title XIX Local Assistance payments, Title XXI Healthy Family payments and non-Medi-Cal payments through the FDR (Federal Draw and Reporting) and FI$Cal systems. This Unit works very closely with the Federal Reporting Section and Cash Flow & Cash Management Section.

Working Conditions
Typical work requires prolonged sitting using a computer, calculator and telephone.
Telework is available. Telework may be available with a maximum of 4 days per week.
Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
Should the incumbent need to report to an office, they will need to report to DHCS office location: 1501 Capitol Ave. Sacramento, CA 95814. This position is located in the East End Complex (EEC) in a multi-story building directly across the street from the California State Capitol Park and the Rose Garden. The EEC is walking distance to public transportation and near various eateries.

The Fiscal Program's Financial Management Division (FMD) works to accomplish DHCS's mission by ensuring the fiscal integrity, transparency and accountability of approximately $144.2 billion annually in state and federal funding. This is accomplished by overseeing the financial operations of DHCS, including financial reporting, resource management, and budget development and oversight. FMD provides guidance and consultation to programs on funding needs, expenditures, including contracts and purchasing, and audit support, while ensuring funds are accurately reported.
