Job description

This position is located in Western Idaho Area Office in Caldwell, or Bosie ID. The incumbent responsibility for making and servicing loans and/or grants in the Business and Cooperative Programs Division, responsible for outreach, application intake and underwriting. Projects are in rural areas helping businesses, producers, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs.
NOTE: THIS POSITION IS NOT REMOTE OR VIRTUAL. THE EMPLOYEE WILL BE EXPECTED TO REPORT IN PERSON TO THE ASSIGNED DUTY LOCATION.Qualifications: Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
For the GS-9 level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS- 07; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience assisting higher graded specialists with loan making, servicing and underwriting duties such as regularly examining loan applications, supporting documents and credit reports; experience processing loans up to the point of final approval, maintaining servicing activities of somewhat complex loans and/or grants; assisting higher level LOAN SPECIALISTs by performing assigned portions of financial credit analysis with more complex loans as a way of acquiring training and competency for more difficult loan examining and servicing assignments OR Masters or equivalent graduate degree in a related field, OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LLB or J.D., if related OR a combination of education as described and specialized experience.
For GS-11 level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of complex mortgage or business or commercial loan making/servicing and credit principles and practices in order to assess the fundamental soundness of business loans and loans to corporate and/or municipal entities and to independently examine applications and corporate financial documents, and maintain servicing activities on a variety of mortgage and business or commercial loans. Experience may have been gained in work equivalent to analyzing financial information provided by loan applicants, determining eligibility for loans and repayment ability, reviewing and approving applications for businesses or commercial, and/or agricultural bank loans; servicing a loan portfolio of a bank and other loan association: performing financial analysis of commercial concerns for investment purposes; appraising real estate and business property to determine property valuation; or similar work; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR a combination of education as described and specialized experience.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
