The Loan Officer creates a remarkable experience consistent with our brand personality, core values, service promises, mission, and vision with all internal and external relationships. Provides exceptional service at all member touch points. Responsible for assisting members by completing consumer loan application requests in person and by telephone. Processes consumer loan applications that are consistent with established loan policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, while maintaining credit union quality, security, and efficiency. Supports our sales and service culture while reinforcing our member advocacy environment. Responsible for interviewing and educating our members as well as analyzing their loan applications. Recommends underwriting decisions in accordance with credit union policy and to comply with state and federal regulations. Responsible for disclosing consumer loans that are consistent with established loan policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, while maintaining credit union quality, security, and efficiency. Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines while maintaining professional and friendly communications.
Qualifications
Experience and Training
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous lending experience preferred
- Must be eligible for and be registered on the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System as a Mortgage Loan Originator as part of the SAFE Act
- Must be eligible for and willing to be a Notary Public
- Must pass Consumer Loan Policy test with a score of at least 95% within 90 days
- Must pass the Mortgage Loan Policy test with a score of at least 95% within 6 months

In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports, and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.
