Shore United Bank is seeking aLoan Documentation Specialistto join our team. A Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing Loan Documentation within the loan platform system and reviewing loan documents for compliance, accuracy and completeness. This role will also assist in supporting the lending and credit functions of the bank by obtaining and verifying documentation used in credit underwriting decisions. This position can be located in Easton, MD or Ocean City, MD.
Essential Functions
- Perform various duties relative to preparing Loan Documentation within the loan platform system and reviewing loan closing packages for compliance, accuracy and completeness
- Orders appraisals/evaluations and flood hazard determinations as required and tracks payments from the borrowers for the same.
- Accurately prepares all loan documents in accordance with the final approved credit facility.
- Working knowledge of the principals of Loan Documentation and perfection of security interests. Order and reviews title/lien searches to ensure adherence to final approved credit facility.
- Follow up with appropriate internal and external customers as necessary to obtain clarification and /or any missing/incomplete data within the timeframes established.
- Review of loan documents prior to closing for accuracy, completeness and compliance with laws, regulations, and bank policy.
- Schedule loan closings to meet and attempt to exceed our customer’s expectations.
- Filing, maintenance of various logs, and other administrative duties as assigned.
- As it relates to the preparation of commercial Loan Documentation: working knowledge of commercial loan structure including documentation and real and personal property liens; working knowledge of UCC, real estate laws, banking laws and compliance regulations; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday - Friday.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of loan structures desirable
- Knowledge of lending process and policies, state and federal banking laws, and real estate and settlement regulations
