Overview:
The Loading Dock Coordinator is responsible for the movement of materials in and out of the receiving dock. Under direction of Supply Chain Operations, the Loading Dock Coordinator will prioritize incoming vehicle traffic, support the movement of materials on the Loading Dock, and reduce the overall dock time for each delivery vehicle seen. Between deliveries, the Loading Dock Coordinator will facilitate the movement of materials throughout the building ensuring incoming goods are routed appropriately and outgoing goods are staged timely ahead of scheduled pickups.

This is a temporary position that ends January 2025.

M-F 6am-2:30pm
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Job Expectations:
  • Create/update/execute delivery schedule for all anticipated delivery traffic.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate scheduled times for unplanned or ad hoc traffic to utilize Loading Dock facilities.
  • Be primary point of contact for all outside delivery services using Loading Dock.
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of the Loading Dock facilities.
  • Facilitate the movement of goods to the end user locations while planning ahead for outgoing goods with the goal of minimal dock wait time for each vehicle.
  • Supports Supply Chain goals and adapts as priorities shift to meet hospital needs.
  • Connect delivery personal with end users to expedite all delivery/pickup operations.
  • Will physically assist in loading and unloading of trucks as appropriate to maintain minimal dock times.
  • Expected to work in outdoor environment.
  • Review all shipping documents for accuracy and damage prior to entering building.
  • Communicate with drivers directly prioritization of needs over first come first serve access.
  • Act as primary contact for all delivery scheduling requests.

Qualifications:
Education
High School or GED

Experience

1 year of Loading Dock experience.

1 year of customer service experience.
