Loading Dock Associate/ Porter

Job Description

We are looking to hire an effective Loading Dock Associate/ Porter within a luxury High Rise Condominium setting. As a Loading Dock Associate/ Porter, you’ll enjoy providing a well-maintained property for our clients. Intake of packages and their organization for the residents in a mail room. Monitoring Vendors and Contractors as they visit the property for maintenance needs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning of the property.
  • Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
  • Inspects all assigned areas daily and reports to all cleaning and maintenance discrepancies to Supervisor.
  • Ensures all safety precautions are met.
  • Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance with OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
  • Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
  • Furnishes and burnishes floors as required.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
  • As needed, clean restrooms, sweep and mop floors, clean toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors and counters.
  • Receiving and organizing packages as they arrive to the property and organizing them in the mail room.
  • Checking in Vendors and Contractors as they arrive at the property for work orders, following up to inspect their work and work areas upon completion.
  • Maintaining the dock, trash chute, and keeping the dock in context for sanitation and cleanliness avoiding any odors.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Qualification, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work weekends will be required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • One to two years of previous custodial experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to lifts 50-100 pounds following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in different environmental working conditions.
  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property as required to meet the essential job functions.
