THE POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and diligent individual to join our team as a Livestock Worker 2. In this position, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of horse racing by ensuring that all racers are fit to compete. You will use breathalyzer technology to screen individuals for the presence of substances that could enhance performance or compromise safety. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the horse racing industry.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As part of your role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of harness racing by conducting breathalyzer tests on all drivers, officials, and paddock employees before they participate. You will need to test all individuals listed on the breathalyzer sheet and ensure that the breathalyzer is calibrated correctly. If any positive results are found, you must report the situation to the appropriate official and generate a written report. Additionally, you may be required to provide testimony during hearings as requested by the judges. Other tasks assigned by your supervisor may also be expected.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Temporary, part-time employment
- Typical work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
- The work schedule is vendor controlled and may change as determined by the racing schedule.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of practical experience in general farming work or animal custody work including either lead work experience or experience in the operation of complicated farm machinery and equipment; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
