Live-In Caregiver

In-Home Caregiver

Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or other special needs
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up living areas
- Provide companionship and engage in activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation
- Assist with transportation to appointments or community outings

Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or other special needs is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with providing direct support to individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities
- First aid certification is a plus
- Experience in hospice care is a plus

Skills:
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required by the individual's needs
- Knowledge of senior care principles and practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors
