Spherion is recruiting for the position of Litigation Paralegal for one of our Baton Rouge clients. This is a Direct Hire order, with what I would consider a career move. Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal will need to have a thorough knowledge of a plaintiff personal injury litigation practice and understanding/knowledge of court practices, requirements and deadlines in both state and federal courts. The Litigation Paralegal will also need to be able to sometimes work overtime, evenings, weekends and travel, as needed. This is the big leagues. Please refer to the skill sets below.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
*Experience in a courtroom setting
*Experience with client interviews, pleadings, pre-trial motions, depositions, investigations and mediation settlements
*Proofreading and requesting medical records

Qualifications:
*Ability to take a case from file to court
*Prepare legal documents, including petitions, answers, discovery, motions, legal memorandum and waivers
*Ability to for overtime hours, evenings, weekends and travel as needed
