We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Litigation Partner to join our team in Lake Success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial litigation, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset. A self-starter with a strong work ethic and organizational skills are essential for this position.
Successful Candidate
The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill and abilities necessary to perform the job of a Litigation Partner successfully:
- Candidate should have experience in all phases of litigation including but not limited to drafting litigation documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery demands, taking depositions, conducting research, and appearing in Court.
- Candidate should also ideally have experience in litigations involving employment and labor law, general civil and commercial litigation.
- Should be able to write and draft papers, handle document discovery in all aspects, prepare discovery demands and responses, notices of all kinds, subpoenas, work up a case, interact with a client and ascertain the documents needed to be obtained (medical records, etc.) and obtain same.
- Lead and manage complex commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution, including trials and appeals.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring their business objectives are met.
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering their professional development.
- Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
- Stay current with developments in commercial litigation and related areas of law to provide cutting-edge legal representation.
What you will need to have:
- Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in New York.
- Benefit is also licensed to practice in New Jersey.
- Must be detail and deadline oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
- Strong oral and written advocacy skills. A writing sample will be requested prior to any interview.
- Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook; Centerbase a plus.
