Linux Systems Engineer
Direct Hire: $70k-$90K
Onsite: Atlanta, GA- Buckhead
Our client is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to provide systems management, troubleshooting, and engineering-level technical support for the company’s Linux-based network cloud application stack, Linux-based network hardware devices as well as related VoIP and Firewall infrastructure. This is a technical engineering, documentation, and problem-solving role. A solid understanding of and experience with Linux-based OS, TCP/IP networking, and open-source infrastructure technology is required.
Responsibilities
- Systems Engineering: providing configuration, troubleshooting & support for our network cloud applications and embedded Linux Client Premise Equipment
- Manage and troubleshoot: Linux-based Network, Firewall, VoIP & VPN services.
- Linux Server Infrastructure: configuration, maintenance & management
- Support and training to help the internal helpdesk and implementation teams better troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
- DevOps: coordinate with developers on application bug fixes, code releases & testing.
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience with RedHat/CentOS and/or Debian/Ubuntu Server administration in a production environment
- Technical puzzle-solving skills - i.e. solid ability to research, understand, and debug complex server, application & networking issues
- 4 Years of TCP/IP & Linux networking experience in a production environment
- 4 years’ experience with shell & python scripting for task automation
- 4 Years of experience with common networking protocols, applications, and services including DNS, DHCP, nftables, ipables, VLAN Tagging, routing, switching, bridging, WiFi, 4G/LTE, OpenVPN, SNMP, NFS, Syslog, SSH, SCP, 802.1Q, SSH Port forwarding & SOCKS Proxy
- 2 years’ experience with virtualization technologies, e.g., QEMU, KVM, ProxMox etc.
- Able to work full-time in the office with your peers.
- Self-motivated and driven to improve your technical knowledge and professional skills.
- Asterisk VoIP server experience preferred.
- OpenWRT/LEDE or other embedded Linux OS experience preferred.
- Linux 4G/LTE modem troubleshooting experience preferred.
