INNOVIM is seeking a Mid-Level Linux System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Enterprise Architecture is comprised of a highly virtualized environment with traditional hardware equipment.
***This position is located onsite at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO***
The Linux Administrator will:
- Engage in and build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems.
- Apply critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot errors resulting from faulty documentation and software and provides detailed problem analysis, resolution and redlines to appropriate team leads.
- Perform necessary research to solve problems and utilizes recommended procedures, best practices, industry standards, SOPs, OIs and/or creates them as needed to effectively troubleshoot systems.
- Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs, appropriate tools/software, to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting action
- Provide technical direction and assistance to managers and team members for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and resolution for complex mission software and hardware
- Coordinate, participates and collaborates with appropriate internal and external program and customer POCs on efforts to improve development of baseline products and provides recommendations as needed
- Conduct daily system monitoring, on-going vulnerability scanning and system patching system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations and security processes.
- Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 10-12 years of general experience; Associate degree and 8-10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 6-8 years of general experience; Master's degree and 4-6 years of general experience.
- Must have at least 6 years of directly related experience
- A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher
- A current Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Linux + certification
- Candidate must have a DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher
- Experience operating within a virtualized environment such as VMWare
- Experience with OpenShift Container Platform
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment using Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) Servers
- Familiar with architecture supporting Space Systems environments
- Experience installing, patching, configuring and troubleshooting Linux servers and workstations including associated peripherals
- Experience with DISA tools used in scanning and remediating computer system vulnerabilities
- Experience resolving hardware & software conflicts, performing server maintenance and break/fix activities
