The church is about one person, Jesus, but it is composed of many different kinds of people, and we are always looking for quality people to join the team.
Position Summary
This position has oversight for lighting design across all campuses to provide an engaging and worshipful experience during services. This position reports directly to the Creative Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for stage lighting oversight across all campuses
- Create "looks" that can be replicated across campuses
- Prepare cues for services at the Bismarck campus
- Responsible for maintenance and inventory of lighting equipment
- Oversee the maintenance and management of lighting systems across campuses, including updating hardware, software, and equipment firmware
- Perform regular cleaning and maintaining fixtures and equipment
- Hang and remove damaged lighting fixtures so they can be repaired
- Responsible for execution of services, special events, and conferences
- Set-up, operation, load-out, and management of lighting equipment (both rented and Evangel-owned) at the Bismarck Campus.
- Train & develop Dream Teamers
- Equip and train Production Dream Teamers to run lighting systems and cues
- Develop captains at campuses to run lights weekly.
- Stage Design & LED Wall
- Oversee planning for all campus's creative new stage designs, video wall configurations, and lighting designs through digital design systems (Sketch-up or other software).
- Implement stage designs with the help of Dream Team/staff
- Other Duties as requested
- Possible lighting assistance for video team on creative sets
- Run other production needs for events such as weddings & funerals
- Assistance at ministry events such as Youth, ekids, etc
- Actively research new products, equipment, and management solutions through usage of blogs, web forums, equipment manuals, publications, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Technical knowledge of production systems, including but not limited to:
- Hog lighting systems/consoles and general production lighting systems and setup
- LED Screen/Video Wall systems and Resolume software/media servers
- ProPresenter software
- Computer proficiency: Apple platform, Google Workspace, Slack, Task Management tools
- Strong team leadership and people skills
- Strong communication skills through both verbal and written means, which can be utilized to communicate with a variety of audiences
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to self-start and problem solve issues in a calm and calculated manner

About Evangel
Evangel was started in 1928 because two brothers had a passion to reach the community of Bismarck for Jesus. Through the years, Evangel has grown into a church with a regular weekend attendance that surpasses 3,000 people joining across all its campuses. The church is served by a dynamic group of Elders and church staff who give direction and oversight to the church. While Evangel's broadcast location remains in Bismarck, the vision is regional in nature and people are being reached all across the upper Midwest and beyond!
