Job Summary:
This position ensures the safe and reliable mechanical operation of our activities, with emphasis on proficiency, safety, training and leadership in all areas of Activities Maintenance. Some of the responsibilities within this departments are activities inspections, compliance, along with repair and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance programs for all activities and attractions within the Adventure Peak area
- Oversee seasonal and year-round work crew. Assign daily tasks and workloads. Maintain a weekly schedule to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Teach, mentor, and coach maintenance staff.
- Responsible for ensuring all required manufacturer, state, federal, and company regulations are met.
- Develop strong professional relationships with appropriate agencies (OSHA, Forest Service, etc.) and work with inspectors and agents during audits.
- Document and perform required inspections as mandated by manufacturer, state, federal, and company guidelines.
- Record all information of work performed (both scheduled and unscheduled) and submit records on time.
- Responsible for scheduling annual inspections. Maintaining and providing all required information during these inspections.
- Correspond with manufacturers and be the contact person for reviewing and implementing updates and notices.
- Responsible for daily upkeep and maintenance of associated facilities including snow removal.
- Assist in the construction or repair of new or existing activities.
- Assist with staff training.
- Assist with transporting guests between venues.
- Complete operations training and assist with operating attractions when needed. Be able to engage with guests by exhibiting Vail Resorts Core Values.
- Establish strong working relationships with other departments and assist them as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical background and aptitude
- Experience leading teams
- Drivers license and satisfactory driving record per Vail Resorts Drivers policy
- Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn company-specific programs such as SmartSheet, PeopleSoft, and Success Factors.
- Spoken and written English
- Able to do physical work, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Able to work at heights up to and over 100’ above the ground in a physically demanding environment
- Able to work in restricted spaces
- Zipline, mountain coaster, and/or other operational experience relevant to outdoor adventure activities.
- Experience with technical/mechanical aspects of ziplines, coasters, and/or other outdoor adventure activities.
- Experience working with, or ability to learn, a wide variety of equipment such as skid steer, forklift, snow blower, snowmobile, truck (street and mountain terrain), UTV, etc.
- Experience working at height with rope access, work positioning, and fall arrest systems
- Knowledge of NDT techniques and rigging, or ability to learn.
- Industry certifications or willingness to achieve them (NAARSO, AIMS, ACCT, SPRAT, etc.)
The expected pay range is $25.00 - $39.49. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
