Job Description
We are seeking a Life Skills Coach for Adult Transition who will work with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to provide individualized mentoring and coaching as well as small group activities in the Life Skills needed to train for and work in the food industry, and in-demand industry sector.
Example of Duties
- Work closely with students who have intellectual and developmental disabilities to ensure their success in the Center for Adult Transition.
- Collaborate with other program staff to conduct initial assessments to assess student interests and job skills.
- Develop weekly activities to foster independence and empower students to be successful in training and the workplace.
- Develop and carryout workshops and activities to teach Life Skills.
- Collaborate with program staff to assist students to learn and accurately carry out job functions.
- Collaborate with program staff to manage program records and complete reports for attendance, employment placement, and retention.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum of one year of related work experience required
- Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferred
- Prior work experience in the food services industry is a plus
