Position purpose Life Safety Services Technicians inspect, install and repair passive fire products and provide services that deliver solutions that give our customers peace of mind. Come join the team at LSS responsible for keeping people and facilities safe.
Seeking individuals with electrical, mechanical, HVAC or auto repair experience to repair fire and smoke dampers.
Six Figure Earning Potential; Per Diem per night stay also available.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Testing the operability of fire & smoke dampers per NFPA code
Testing of fire and smoke doors per NFPA Code
Making non-accessible dampers accessible
Inspection of firewalls per NFPA code
Providing accurate documentation for customer code compliance
Maintain professional, timely, communication with customers
Attend Job Training Activities
Qualifications
- Valid Driver License
- 21 years of age (insurance reason)
- Pass background & drug test
- Travel – 10 days gone, 4 day- home rotation
- Must provide own tools
- Professional appearance
Minimum Requirements
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
- Work effectively as a team contribution all assignments
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
- Experience in customer service and working with the public
- Experience in mechanical, HVAC, electrical repair and installation preferred, but not required
- Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
- Experience in fire stopping methodology helpful
- Ability to interpret life safety drawings
- Must have ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment with maximum load of 250 lbs
- Must be able to work in ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings that all have limited space
- Good record-keeping and tracking of inspections in facilities
- Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and Email)
