VertiSource HR is currently seeking an aspiring entrepreneur who is highly motivated, innovative, and professional to manage and expand our Life and Health book of business. The ideal candidate for this opportunity is an enthusiastic, career-minded, self-motivated individual with a proven record of professionalism and success in fast-paced environments. Must be licensed in Life and Health Insurance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Market Group Insurance Benefit Plans and Products to benefit clients and their employees.
- Negotiate rates and benefits with underwriters and insurance carriers that best suit client needs.
- Maintain existing business and drive the sales of additional services and coverage levels.
- Liaise between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues.
- Manage day-to-day benefits administration and assist with benefits inquiries, claims, and billing issues to resolution.
- Design enrollment materials and draft summary plan descriptions to enhance client-employee benefit understanding.
- Deliver outstanding in-person, video teleconference and/or telephone presentations on available benefit programs.
- Support insurance providers and serve as primary contact for clients when insurance provider is unavailable.
- Input and update new and existing client information and communications within agency management system.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations (ACA, COBRA, HIPPA).
- Assist internal departments (i.e., Accounting, HR, Payroll) with benefit information as requested.
Primary Requirements
- Active L&H license required; L&H software experience required.
- Active P&C license and understanding a plus but not required.
- Minimum three years’ experience with a thorough knowledge of Group Insurance Benefit plans.
- Project management experience with proven ability to work effectively independently and as a team.
- Highly adept in project planning and prioritizing and able to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Well versed in all pertinent state and federal regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Extremely proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe software.
- Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily seated work; frequent use of hands/wrists.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, push, and pull with hands and arms.
- Seldom required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Seldom required to twist, bend, or reach.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.; seldom lift and/or move 30 lbs. or more.
This position requires the performance of duties onsite/in-office with occasional travel in and out of state.
