Lidar Technician

Aero-Graphics, Inc., a leading geospatial service company is seeking a qualified entry level LiDAR Calibration/QC Technician.
Candidates with experience are also welcome to apply and compensation can be scaled based on experience. Candidates enrolled in or graduated from a program with an AS, AAS, or BS in Surveying/Geomatics, Geography, or GIS preferred. QGIS and python scripting experience is also preferred.
Duties – Lidar Calibration/QC Technician
-Process and review raw lidar data
-Post process flight POS data to produce SBET
-Combine SBET and Range data in LMS to produce raw LAS swaths
-Perform acquisition QA/QC on raw LAS swaths
-Report results and communicate with PMs and clients
-Calibrate Lidar data
-Understand project requirements and industry standard specifications
-Calibrate Lidar data to meet project specifications
-Adjust flight lines for proper relative calibration
-Perform block adjustments to improve absolute calibration
-Generate and interpret DZ orthos
-Report results of Calibration and communicate w PMs and Clients
-Basic Lidar Classification
-Perform manual editing of Lidar data using TerraScan functionality
Job Requirements
-Attention to detail and an ability to problem solve using the GIS suite of tools.
-Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
-Ability to work well within a team environment
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Basic knowledge of python for scripting (more advanced knowledge is a plus)
