The QuikTrip Accounting is now accepting applications for a Licensing Lead (O07) to work at the Corporate Office in Tulsa, OK.
This position is responsible for the research and preparation for QuikTrip and subsidiaries most complex license filings and reports required by Federal, State, and Local authorities, while protecting the company’s interest and confidential information for all assigned store and non-store locations. Indirectly supervise License Specialists and License and Property Tax Specialists by reviewing and providing feedback for license applications and other projects. Assist manager with the license budgeting and with review and training of budget variance analysis each month. This position will report to the License and Property Tax Supervisor.
The requirements for this position include:
- Must have undergraduate accounting classes through Intermediate II with one-year QT experience or extensive relevant QT experience.
- Two (2) to three (3) years general accounting and system experience including 1 year of experience related to regulatory compliance project management related work.
- Excel (intermediate), OneNote (intermediate) good time management and organizational skills, high level of concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail, excellent writing, presentation, verbal communication, facilitation, decision-making, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while responding to rapidly changing priorities.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with people at all levels to communicate strategic and operational impacts.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to take responsibility and demonstrate initiative.
- Must work independently with little direction.

The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. but may vary according to business needs, projects, and deadlines. The minimum starting pay for this position can be up to $26.76-$29.13 per hour, depending on related experience and qualifications.

Major functions for this position:
Responsible for the research and the accurate and timely filing of complex license applications to the appropriate federal, state, and local authorities for new stores in construction.
- Initiate contact and establish relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to maintain during and after the construction of new stores.
- Research licensing requirements for all applicable jurisdictions for new store locations to ensure that every new store meets all regulatory requirements before it opens. This position specifically works closely with external consultants and attorneys to license the locations in new states that require extensive background information and extra research not always required in more established markets.
- Research and interpret laws and regulations involving applications and gather supporting documentation. Must understand state rules and regulations of various products that we sell, such as tobacco, alcohol, and food.
- Maintain positive working relationships with individuals in and outside the company, such as Real Estate Project Managers, Construction Managers, Division Personnel, Legal, and hired consultants and legal professionals, including providing regular updates as appropriate.

Responsible for ensuring all assigned store and non-store licenses are renewed on a timely basis and that all original copies of licenses are properly posted in compliance with each assigned jurisdiction by assisting management with reporting and monitoring renewal processes.

Assist the manager with leadership of the Licensing Specialists
- [RD1] Back up License & Property Tax Supervisor and assist the team as needed including occasionally proving manager review of license renewals and QTD apportioned tags and registrations for IRP/IFTA eligible vehicles.
- Review department procedures and standards prepared by other members of the team on an annual cycle.
- Assist with licensing budget.
- Compile licensing budget variance each month and train new staff on the process.
